One our most anticipated and appreciated annual events is the picnic that North Coast Neighbors, the volunteers of North Coast Community Homes, hosts for the people who live in homes developed and maintained by NCCH in Cuyahoga, Lake and Stark Counties. The tenants with mental retardation and developmental disabilities are accompanied by their care providers and some family members.
In 2009, John Polito of Polito Landscaping graciously provided the hamburgers and hot dogs and grilled them for everyone on his super-sized grill. All other food was provided by the North Coast Neighbors.
While food is one of the most important elements of a picnic, this event also included games and dancing to music provided by DJ EZ. We were also very fortunate that Marilyn's Voice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to stopping the puppy mill industry in Ohio, brought adorable puppies and dogs for the tenants to meet.

Thank you to all the volunteers who supported and served at this event. You gave our tenants a day to remember.
