TENANT PICNIC, 2006

A crowd of over 230 tenants with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, their care givers, family members, staff and volunteers had a wonderful time at this year’s tenant picnic, hosted by North Coast Neighbors! A big thank you to Andrea R. Dean and her brother, Terry Dean, North Coast Neighbors volunteers, for organizing, purchasing the food, grilling the burgers and hot dogs, and in general, giving the tenants a day of fun, food and friends. Your good work was, and ever will be, appreciated by all who have the opportunity to work with you. Andrea and Terry were siblings of Roddy Dean, a former tenant of NCCH.

Another special thank you to the volunteer group of young people from Church of the Savior in Cleveland Heights, who willingly helped our tenants enjoy this special day. This volunteer group was supervised by Brian Broadbent.

North Coast Neighbors is a group of caring individuals who volunteer their time to improve the lives of NCCH tenants, help raise funds in support of the mission of NCCH, assist at trade fairs and with office needs, and educate the public about the very real needs of individuals with mental retardation, mental illness and other disabilities. The Neighbors work with corporate, school and church groups to arrange for specific volunteer projects, and they host an annual Reverse Raffle and Auction.
