North Coast Community Homes (NCCH) has been asked by the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (CCBMRDD) to develop 6 homes for 24 tenants in 2008. These homes are a result of the Martin v. Strickland Settlement.

NCCH also constructed a new group home to replace a home that was demolished due to the building of a new mall in Garfield Heights. Eight individuals, between the ages of 52 and 91, will be living in this home that opened in Spring 2008. Also in 2008, NCCH will also be taking on the maintenance of 12 group homes that had previously been maintained by the CCBMRDD.

A multi-unit building is being constructed in Akron for 9 homeless individuals with severe mental illness. The opening of this home is scheduled for late 2008.
