Although “people with disabilities” sometimes refers to a single population, this is actually a diverse group of people with a wide range of needs.

Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. These conditions may impact day-to-day functioning throughout a person’s lifetime.

Intellectual disability is a term used when there are limits to a person’s ability to learn at an expected level and function in daily life. Levels of intellectual disability vary greatly. Individuals with intellectual disability might have a hard time letting others know their wants and needs and taking care of themselves.

NCCH seeks to bring our residents greater dignity, self-expression and connection, thereby helping them achieve their full potential.
