Every year thousands of Key Bank employees across the country contribute their time and talents to local nonprofit organizations to give back to their local communities for Key’s annual Neighbors Make The Difference® Day.
On Tuesday, June 2, Key Bank employees from varies Northeast Ohio departments joined with North Coast Community Homes team members to enhance a NCCH Akron home.
Volunteers joined forces to paint and trim eight bedrooms at the Veteran's Haven, a NCCH home in Akron. This home provides quality housing and supportive services for veterans working to establish community connection, allowing them to engage in treatment at their own pace.
Anna Stroup, Key Bank Audit Director, provided background on Neighbors Make the Difference Day. Stroup shared, “Neighbors Make The Difference Day, is Key's official day of employee volunteerism. It highlights Key’s commitment to its communities, establishing the organization as a leader in corporate volunteerism efforts.
Employees can access a variety of volunteer opportunities and find a program that aligns with their personal interest. Scott Frazier, Key Bank Portfolio Manager, added, “It is a nice opportunity to meet colleagues from different departments and learn about their role as a Key Bank associate.”
Information shared on the Key Bank Neighbors Make The Difference Day website states that Key's annual commitment represents more than half a million volunteer hours to communities and more than 100,000 company-funded employee volunteer hours since 2023.
Jim Henry, NCCH Maintenance Supervisor offered, “We had very ambitious goal. With help from Key Bank "Neighbors Make a Difference Day" volunteers, we were able to bring brightness into the daily lives of some patriots who have served our country.”
